ABOUT

Yurie Style

Japan has four beautiful seasons: spring, summer, autumn and winter.
Long ago, flower banquets were held during the beautiful cherry blossom season, and women would wear costumes with colors and textures that expressed cherry blossoms, compose poems, and enjoy the changing seasons and the beauty of nature.

We deliver traditional, elegant and sophisticated items to people all over the world so that they can enjoy them in modern life, something beautiful that soothes the heart and brings comfort to the senses in the midst of busy daily life.

We hope to be able to offer "Japanese beauty" to everyone through yurie style.

Yurie

Japanese Beauty

The beauty of Japan

Beauty created by only warp and weft threads.
Have you heard of Japanese silk fabrics with their beautiful luster?

The lustrous softness of silk fabric.
The beauty of changing colour and radiance with light.

How beautiful.
When I found the fabric I had been looking for,
"My heart flutters and I want to keep it by my side forever."
The moment I picked up the fabric, I was struck by its beauty and thought, "I had no idea such beautiful things still existed in Japan."

Yurie Style is committed to "genuine Japanese beauty" and delivers products all over the world.

I hope that more people around the world, and more people in Japan, will become aware of this beautiful fabric.

All of yurie style's products are made by long-established Japanese businesses and craftsmen.
Each piece is made possible through the help of many people.
We would like to cherish the thoughts of these people and deliver these beautiful works to people all over the world.

Nishijin-ori

Nishijin weaving

When you think about raising silk from silkworms, how much time, effort, and labor does it take?
Starting with the design and dyeing the thread, a single piece of textile is completed through more than 20 steps.
Each and every step of the process is still carried out carefully by hand.

While most Nishijin-ori textiles use synthetic fibers such as polyester, we use fabrics from Konkan Shoten, a long-established Kyoto store that specializes in pure silk.

Kumihimo

braid

Since ancient times, braided cords have been carefully made with various meanings in mind, such as the connection between things that create ties and the people who connect things.
We are particular about the cords we use, and have them specially braided from pure silk (100% silk) by Hirai Kenzo Shoten in Iga and Showen Kumihimo in Kyoto. Silk cords are strong and do not stretch even with use, and the decorations attached to the ends of the cords are also made from pure silk braids.

"Kanno Musubi" - a wish that has been put into knots since ancient times
This knot is imbued with the meaning of "wishes coming true."

Wajiwa-nuri

Wajima Lacquer

It all started with a ball I came across about 10 years ago. I wanted to make a fountain pen with a painted finish, so I visited Wajima. The workshop is located next to the sparkling, beautiful sea, and the town is a place where time passes slowly and quietly, with the smell of the sea as you walk along.
On January 1, 2024, a major earthquake and fire occurred on the Noto Peninsula, destroying all six of our workshops and stores.
From the next day, they began working hard to find a new workshop and home, and through one miracle after another, they were able to reach the point where they were able to reopen the workshop in April 2024.
Wajima lacquerware takes 124 steps to complete.
It is made using a special thick coating technique that is only handed down to a few craftsmen among Wajima lacquer artisans who use genuine lacquer.

Ebonite

Ebonite base and wooden shaft

We received help from Eboya, the only ebonite manufacturer in Japan, and a woodworking artist to help make this piece.
A beautiful form that can only be created with Japanese technology.
Each and every piece is made possible through the connections and ties of many people.
