The paulownia, bamboo, and phoenix pattern is a highly auspicious design, combining the paulownia tree, bamboo, and phoenix.
Originating from a Chinese legend that "in a world of good governance, the phoenix lives in the paulownia tree and eats bamboo seeds," this pattern has been revered as a special courtly design since the Heian period, even appearing on the Emperor's attire (yellow-dyed imperial robes).
All items are made with pure silk Nishijin fabric from Honkan Shoten Co., Ltd., a long-established Kyoto textile manufacturer.
