“Shikko” Fountain Pen — Wajima-nuri Mastery in Natural Urushi
Master’s Kanreki (60th) Edition — Limited to 30 pieces
Shipping starts from September 16th
This “Shikko” fountain pen unites the highest level of Wajima craftsmanship, finished in natural urushi lacquer from Wajima.
Under the supervision of Kozo Yamazaki, organizer of the Kobe Pen Show and representative of y.y penclub, we newly engineered an ebonite base to achieve a size and balance unlike anything before—created to commemorate his kanreki, the 60th-year milestone.
A fully gathered design—grooves on both barrel and cap—showcases meticulous attention to the width and pitch of each ridge for an outstanding, secure grip. The deep crimson lacquer reveals the distinctive gloss and depth only natural urushi can provide. It is exceedingly rare to see such a finely executed gathered pattern in ebonite, delivering both sculptural beauty and practical function.
The gathered ridges also act like radiator fins, helping dissipate heat and mitigate ink expansion due to temperature changes.
Each pen is personally tuned by the master, ready to write with silky smoothness from the moment it’s in your hand.

Nishijin-ori
Nishijin weaving
When you think about raising silk from silkworms, how much time, effort, and labor does it take?
Starting with the design and dyeing the thread, a single piece of textile is completed through more than 20 steps.
Each and every step of the process is still carried out carefully by hand.
While most Nishijin-ori textiles use synthetic fibers such as polyester, we use fabrics from Konkan Shoten, a long-established Kyoto store that specializes in pure silk.
